United Nations, Rabi'II 14, 1438, January 12, 2017, SPA -- Peace talks in Geneva to resolve the decades-long division of Cyprus are “on track,” the U.N. envoy for the Mediterranean island said Wednesday, adding that many issues dividing the two sides had been resolved.
However, Espen Barth Eide told reporters there was “still work to do” in the negotiations between Greek and Turkish Cypriots.
“We have dealt with some of the most difficult issues. We have touched upon almost all of them, we have solved many of them, and we are close to resolving some other issues,” Eide said. “There is still work to do.”
